From Memories of Stas Ionov
Dear Pavel,
I am just indescribably sad to hear of your brother's death. When I met him two years ago, several things were evident: First, his intelligence just radiated from him. You could see that this was a brilliant and creative individual and that not much would get past him. It was also clear that he was a warm and compassionate soul. He was proud of his little brother, that much is certain. I sensed a protectiveness, too. I suspect he was a rather good big brother.
Words are so feeble at a time like this. Scribbles on a card, pixels on a screen. Almost as ephemeral as a life. And like a life, they carry meaning, resonance, relevance. You must be so proud of what Stas meant to the world.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Fondly,
--Scott
